Public Safety & Emergency Services

Public safety personnel, including EMS, Police and Correctional Officers, are faced with a unique dilemma. While performing their job responsibilities, they are in jeopardy of contracting infections when exposed to cross-contamination from individuals who may cough, sneeze, bleed, defecate, expectorate, urinate or vomit while in their care.  Staphylococcus including MRSA, herpes and hepatitis viruses are just a few of the infectious agents that have been identified.

In addition to personal protection equipment such as gloves and masks, the prudent and routine use of disinfecting agents and hand sanitizers is known to significantly reduce the chances for cross-contamination.
